Los Angeles, CA – May 21, 2024 –

The latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has just dropped, and it comes with an unexpected twist. Ryan Reynolds, known for his unique brand of humor and marketing genius, has added a QR code to the trailer that leads viewers to a hilarious disclaimer video, setting expectations for the film’s release on July 26, 2024.

The trailer, which announces that tickets are now on sale, was released online on May 20. Reynolds himself shared his version of the trailer on X/Twitter, with the QR code making a brief appearance at exactly 0:03 seconds. The code, cleverly hidden on a building behind Wolverine as he walks into the frame to the tune of Madonna’s Like A Prayer, was spotted by eagle-eyed fans.

Upon scanning the QR code, viewers are taken to an exclusive video where Reynolds delivers a tongue-in-cheek disclaimer about the movie. In typical Deadpool fashion, Reynolds quips about the film’s “paper-thin” plot and what audiences can truly expect.

“We’re very excited to be joining you July 26,” Reynolds begins in the video. “Many of you are very excited. But we should set the table correctly. This film is as paper-thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth. We’re mostly going to beat each other senseless, make enemies with Disney, tell a few dick jokes, make a few jokes at my expense, make a lot of jokes at Hugh’s expense, and completely sidestep Marvel’s mandated after-credits sequence, which if you haven’t figured it out yet, is always just a commercial for another movie which will invariably end with a commercial for another movie.”

Reynolds continues, “So sit back, relax, let us lower your IQ and raise your heart rate while we travel to a vapid Dreamland, a place where grown men and grown women walk around in tights and act like it’s not a giant cultural cry for help.” He concludes with a dramatic flair, “This is CINEMA.”

Director Shawn Levy has previously stated that Deadpool & Wolverine is “built for entertainment” and requires no “homework” before watching. The teaser trailers hint at numerous fourth-wall-breaking jokes at Disney’s expense and plenty of humorous exchanges between Reynolds and co-star Hugh Jackman.

Deadpool & Wolverine will integrate these beloved characters into the MCU when it hits theaters on July 26, 2024. This film marks the MCU’s first R-rated movie and is the sole MCU release for the year.
